Education


The
Navarre area is served by an excellent school system.
Holley-Navarre
Primary School opened in 1996 serving students kindergarten through
the second grade. All the classrooms have computers and the first
and second grade classrooms are networked for a school IAN.


Holley-Navarre Intermediate School serves third
through fifth graders and pre-kindergarten students. The school
is a Red Carpet and Project Vision School, and it has received the
Golden School Award for 12 years, in addition to the State
and National PTA awards.


Holley-Navarre Middle School, which serves sixth
through eighth grade, was selected by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools for an exemplary Partnership Program. Special
programs include Project Vision, instructional technology, networked
computers in every classroom, an outstanding band program, automated
library and cafeteria programs, and team concept and scheduling.
The school has earned designation as a Red Carpet School and Blueprint
2000 School.


The
communitys newest school, Navarre High School, opened in 1996.


The
County School Board recently approved the purchase of 44 acres to
build a new middle school scheduled to open in August 1999.


The
University of West Florida offers Bachelors, Masters,
and Educational Specialists degrees in the colleges of art
and social sciences, business, education, and science technology.


Pensacola
Junior College serves the area with several campuses and offers
more than 100 programs.


Troy
State University offers Baccalaureate and Masters Degrees
